I’m Klay Abele
Senior CG Generalist and Motion Designer in Pittsburgh, PA
I’m a director, CG artist, and filmmaker with over 15 years of experience crafting cinematic visuals and high-end narrative animation. My career began behind the camera in commercial cinematography, where I developed a foundational eye for shot composition, lighting, and camera movement, skills that fundamentally shape my directorial voice and approach to digital storytelling today.
Instead of choosing between live-action and digital environments, I bridge the two. I specialize in directing complex 3D animation and photorealistic CG content, combining deep technical expertise with world-building and creative direction. Whether staging a sprawling cinematic sequence or crafting an intimate character moment, my focus is always on visual rhythm, mood, and narrative depth.
Outside the studio, I’m a husband, a proud dad of four boys, and a relentless collaborator who views every technical challenge as an opportunity for creative problem-solving.
